Front. On the right side of the banknote are the portraits of the pilots Steponas Darius and Stasys Girenas, Lithuanian national heroes. At the top is the inscription LIETUVOS BANKAS (BANK OF LITHUANIA), and at the bottom of the banknote DESIMT LITU (TEN LITAS). On the left of the portraits is the year of issue 2001, the signature of the Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania and the inscription LIETUVOS BANKO VALDYBOS PIRMININKAS (CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF THE BANK OF LITHUANIA). The front of the banknote bears orange, green, violet and blue colours.

Back. The drawing on the back represents the plane "LITUANICA" above the Atlantic Ocean, outlines of the American and European continents and the waves of the ocean. At the bottom of the banknote is the inscription DEŠIMT LITŲ (TEN LITAS). The back of the banknote bears light brown, violet and blue colours.

Size of the note: 135mmx65 mm. The designer of the banknote is Giedrius Jonaitis.

  Watermark – a multi-tonal Vytis (state emblem, a mounted knight) visible when the note is held up to the light.
  Microperforation of the denomination numeral 10 (an outline of the denomination numeral made up of tiny holes) visible when the note is held up to the light. On both sides of the banknote, the microperforated area does not contain punched out paper fragments that could be distinguished by touch.
  See-through feature, an image of an airplane, front to back in perfect register.
  Latent image (denomination numeral 10) on the right side of the top ornamental band visible when the note is tilted towards the light at an acute angle.
  A glossy windowed security thread with threpeated microtext 10 LTL. When the banknote is held up to the light, the full length of the thread is visible.
