Vladas Jurgutis Award
The Bank of Lithuania established Vladas Jurgutis Award seeking to encourage scientific activities in the area of research on Lithuania‘s banking, finance, money and macroeconomics. The Award is granted for significant works (published scientific articles, theses, monographs, textbooks, etc.) in the above areas.
Application filling
Applications for Vladas Jurgutis Award are accepted every year until 1 September.
Candidates for the Award (individuals and collective bodies) could be nominated by both natural and legal persons. When nominating a candidate for the Award, the following should be submitted in the Lithuanian or English language:

recommendation of the natural or legal person that nominates the candidate;

description of candidate’s life and scientific activity, and list of works;

works of the candidate for which he/she is nominated for the Award: books, articles, results of researches, etc., reviews of the works submitted and feedback on them.

Vladas Jurgutis Award
The Bank of Lithuania established Vladas Jurgutis Award in 1997 to perpetuate the merits of academic, professor and the first Governor of the Bank of Lithuania Vladas Jurgutis for the banking of Lithuania commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Bank of Lithuania and issuance of the Litas.
The Board of the Bank of Lithuania amended the Provisions on Granting Vladas Jurgutis Award by Resolution No. 114 of 24 July 2008. The Resolution provides for that this Award shall be granted by the Bank of Lithuania and the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences on the basis of their cooperation agreement.
Since its establishment, the Award has been presented four times:
1997: Prof. Alfonsas Zilenas for influential works in the fields of banking and finance;
1998: Stasys Sajauskas and Dominykas Kaubrys for their work Numismatics of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania;
1999: Vladas Terleckas for his books and articles published from 1995 to 1999 on the history of Lithuanian banking;
2008: Arunas Dulkys, Juozas Galkus and Stanislovas Sajauskas for their work Lithuanian Coins.

Prof. doctor habilitatus Vaidievutis Geralavicius, Member of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania;
Dr. Stasys Kropas, President of Association of Lithuanian Banks;
Dr Raimondas Kuodis, Director of the Department of Economics of the Bank of Lithuania;
Prof. doctor habilitatus Jonas Cicinskas, Chair of European Studies Department, Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University;
Dr Virmantas Kvedaras, associate professor of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Vilnius University.
